Known Issues
Foundation |

mayapy in Maya 2018.4 not exiting with correct return code. MAYA-96273 Issue: mayapy exits with the wrong return code In Maya 2018.4, the Maya exit code was changed to avoid potential crashes when exiting without calling standalone.uninitialize(). Maya does not know of the exit code when it is provided directly to the Python exit() function; therefore, it cannot pass it along to the system on final exit. To resolve the issue, call the uninitialize function and the Maya quit command, which will run the registered exit callbacks and exit with the right error code. Alternatively, you can also workaround the issue by doing one of the following: Set the environment variable MAYA_NO_STANDALONE_ATEXIT to 1 for the pre-Maya 2018.4 behaviour Call os._exit(value) instead. |
Rendering |
---|
If you are using Maya 2019.1 Update with MtoA 3.2.0, you may
experience a crash if you hide or unhide a light while Arnold RenderView
is running. Workaround: Render with MtoA 3.2.1 instead. To obtain the installer, visit: https://www.arnoldrenderer.com/arnold/download/. |
UI |

Unable to re-dock toolbox(windows) without resizing. MAYA-97252 If you are on the Centos 7 (Centos 7.4.1708 and KDE 4.14.8) platforms, you may encounter an issue where you cannot redock windows such as the Maya toolbox after undocking them. Workaround: Set the environment variable MAYA_WORKSPACES_ALWAYS_SHOW_TAB to 1 so that the tab remains present and can be used to select, dock and redock. |
Crash on Maya startup when encountering OpenCL initialization errors. MAYA-92488 Workaround: Do any of the following: 1. Uninstall the Intel OpenCL driver. On Windows, do this via Control Panel > Programs and Features. 2. Modify the registry as follows: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors (for 64-bit applications). These registry keys should contain one REG_DWORD value for each OpenCL platform. If you change the REG_DWORD value for a platform from 0 to 1, then that platform will no longer enumerate. The advantage is that if you change your mind, you can re-enable the platform by changing the value from 1 back to 0. For more information, see the ICD loader extension specification: https://www.khronos.org/registry/cl/extensions/khr/cl_khr_icd.txt See also: https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/opencl/topic/705036 3. Edit the Maya.env file and add the line: MAYA_DISABLE_OPENCL=1 |
